Rock-Cut Stone Candle Holder for 2 Tapers – Travertine or Red Marble

A small block of natural stone that looks as if it was cut straight from the quarry: two vertical slots hold a pair of taper candles, and on the Rough-Hewn style the front is left raw and chiselled around them, so the piece reads like a fragment of brutalist architecture on a mantel, console, dining table or bookshelf. Choose warm, pitted travertine or deep red marble with white veining — striking with candles, or on its own as a sculptural object.

• Two stones: Travertine (warm beige with the open pores typical of travertine) or Red Marble (deep burgundy Rosso Lepanto marble with white and grey veining)
• Two styles: Rough-Hewn (a raw, chiselled front around the slots with a flat top) or Smooth-Cut (clean, flat faces with two neat U-shaped slots)
• About 12 cm long × 3 cm deep × 8 cm high (4.7 × 1.2 × 3.1 in) and about 0.68 kg (1.5 lb), per the supplier's measurement photos; the supplier measures by hand, so sizes are approximate
• Natural stone with a polished finish (per supplier; the supplier lists both stones as marble) — veining, pits, colour and the rough-hewn edges vary from piece to piece, so no two are exactly alike
